Key Changes offers introductory training in music mentoring and workshop leading skills for musicians seeking to progress to further volunteering, training or employment opportunities in community music settings.

This short course, carried out over 3 sessions, is required for anyone wishing to volunteer with Key Changes.

The course covers the following areas:

Session 1: Mental health, Music Development and Therapy: An Overview of Skills and Techniques
Session 2: Workshop Leading, Group and One-to-One Mentoring
Session 3: Documenting and Evaluating, Next Steps into Volunteering, Training or Employment

The sessions include taught modules, practical demonstrations and role play. Handouts and resources are provided and successful completion of a portfolio is certificated.

The emphasis is on mentoring in settings where participants may be from “at risk” or vulnerable backgrounds, or where wellbeing and recovery are an important aspect of the process.

If you are interested in volunteering opportunities with us please contact us with your CV and a covering letter. You will then be required to complete the next available course and apply for an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure before being considered for a role.
